The Book I'm Not Not Reading

(The title reminds me of one of those GSOC union chants: "If we're not workers, then we're not not working," which was one of my favorites--and reminds me also that at least for a limited amount of time, being on the picket line was kind of fun. But I'm not going to get into all that here.)

Anyway--Linguistic Anthropology class is OVER! Woo hoo! Lots of great readings, but way too much work, and so I'm well shut of it. Now--only a few more classes, some reading, and a final project, and I'll be officially done with coursework!

Tomorrow some of us are off to the A2K (Access to Knowledge) conference at Yale--that should be fun. I've probably never sat around with that many lawyers, and I hope to have tales to tell.

Tes, while you're at Yale, try to break away and go to Frank Pepe's or Sally's Apizza in New Haven for some great pizza. I found out while my sister and bro-in-law were living up that way for a while some years back that New Haven has its own unique style of pizza, built around a thin and crispy crust cooked to perfection in an 800-degree coal-fired oven. Such ovens have been outlawed there and elsewhere for years, but these places are so old that they got grandfathered in. Check it out - you won't regret it! (I'm sure any Yalie can tell you where these places are. IIRC they're both on the same street.)

PS Congrats on finishing the coursework!

The crowd goes wild. Hats are tossed. A never-ending rain of tickertape descends.

Ah, but it's not quite over yet. Almost, but not quite...two more classes and a project....

John, we didn't wind up eating in New Haven after all--the conference fed us a filling lunch and afternoon snack, so we pressed forward to get back to the city before too late. Next time....
